Action rights

Action rights can be assigned to user roles in order to define what actions users with a particular user role are allowed to perform.

General

Action right	Description
Create and remove groups	The user can create and delete groups in the group navigation. Because adding groups involved assigning group rights (user groups), the action right “Assign group rights” has to be assigned to the user role as well.
Edit groups	The user can edit existing groups, e.g. rename them, edit their details or assign data point filters and user groups. The latter requires the “Assign group rights” action right as well.
Edit group tags	The user can manage group tags. Group tags can then be assigned to groups by anyone with the “Edit groups” action right.

Dashboard

Action right	Description
Create, edit and delete dashboards	The user can create, edit and delete dashboards.
Manage categories	The user can manage dashboard categories. These can be assigned to dashboards to flag them.
Manage creation sets	The user can manage creation sets. Dashboards can then be assigned to these creation sets, and when you create new groups, you can select one of these creation sets to automatically create a copy of the dashboards in the creation set to the new group.

Widgets

Schematic widget

Action right	Description
Write data point values	The user can write values to the data points that have been placed on the Schematic widget.
Edit schematics	The user can edit schematics, i.e. place shapes and data points on them.
Edit master pages	The user can edit master pages. Master pages allow you to reuse the same shapes on multiple schematics.

Shape editor

Action right	Description
Show shape editor	The user has read access to the shape editor.
Edit shapes	The user can edit shapes in the shape editor.

Charts

Action right	Description
Edit charts	The user can edit Chart widgets.

Tickets

Action right	Description
Create and update tickets	The user can create and edit tickets. Note that the message of alarm tickets cannot be edited, and only tickets of type User report can be created manually.
Acknowledge tickets and close acknowledged notifications	The user can acknowledge and close tickets, which involves writing a comment as to what steps were taken to resolve the issue. Some devices allow tickets to be closed only when they have been acknowledged by the device itself. This can be bypassed by also enabling the action right “Close tickets directly (also without acknowledgment)”.
Close tickets directly (also without acknowledgment)	Some devices allow tickets to be closed only when they have been acknowledged by the device itself. This is expected and recommended behavior in a production environment. However, if privileged users should be able to close such tickets even if they have not been acknowledged by the device, you can enable this action right.
Delete tickets	The user can delete tickets. This action right should only be assigned to privileged users. Deleting tickets is not a recommended practice, because the entire history of comments will also be deleted, and it will no longer be available for auditing purposes. If possible, tickets should always be closed, not deleted, unless the tickets were created for testing purposes or by mistake.
Edit predefined text blocks for tickets	The user can edit predefined text blocks, which can be used for quickly writing or editing new tickets by inserting those predefined text blocks, rather than typing them in manually.
Edit ticket tags	The user can manage ticket tags, which can be assigned to tickets. It is then possible to filter tickets in the ticket list by these tags.

Real estate management

Action right	Description
Edit real estate information	The user can edit details related to a real estate on the Real Estate Details widget.
Manage tenant assistance	The user can edit details related to Tenant Assistance on the Real Estate Details widget.
Manage energy provider coefficients	The user can manage energy provider coefficients that are used in ESG/media reporting.

Bulletin

Action right	Description
Create, edit and delete bulletin messages	The user can manage messages on the Bulletin Board widget, which are displayed to tenants in Avelon Tenants.

Meter network

Action right	Description
Show and export network	The user can see and export the meter network of a real estate in the Meter Network widget.
Edit network	The user can edit meter networks in the Meter Network widget, e.g. create and connect meters, cost units, areas and splitters.
Upload, calculate and export consumption-dependent account of heating costs	The user can upload a VHKA file (German: “verbrauchsabhängige Heiz- und Warmwasserkostenabrechnung”, consumption-based billing of heating and hot water costs), which triggers the calculation of heating costs and produces a report of energy consumption and ancillary costs for all tenants.

Remote access to devices via Avelon Connect	The user can access the device and shared resources in the remote network via Avelon Connect.

Data points and filters

Action right	Description
Show data points	The user can see all data points from the devices to which he has access.
Edit data points	The user can edit existing data points.
Create and delete data points	The user can create and delete data points. Data points can also be created for objects or registers from other protocols, such as BACnet or Modbus.
Edit data point tags	The user can manage data point tags. These can be assigned to data points to filter them more easily in the data point list or the filters panel.
Edit measurements	The user can edit measurements of data points. This includes changing the value or type of existing measurements, or adding new measurements.
Edit measurements (Avelon Meters only)	The user can add new measurements via the Avelon Meters app. This is a separate right in case a user only needs to add new meter readings to data points, without modifying any existing measurements.
