Localization and formatting

When a report is generated for the first time, an additional tag is added to the template, specifying the locale that is used to format numbers.

[locale name=”en-US”]

The locale will be set to the proofing language of the current selection in the document (i.e. at the current cursor position). In order to change the locale, you can either edit the locale string directly (e.g. change the value to de-CH or de-DE), or you can delete the tag, then select the entire document by pressing Ctrl + A, and then press the key sequence Alt, R, U, L in that order (or go to ReviewLanguageSet Proofing Language) and select your desired locale.

Once a locale tag is present in the template, it will not be changed by Avelon Reporting, unless you edit or remove it manually.

Note

In order to set a default proofing language in Word, Excel or PowerPoint, go to FileOptionsLanguage and make sure that the desired locale is set as the preferred proofing language in the second list. The poofing language of new documents will automatically be set to this preferred language by default. Note that this will not change the proofing language of existing documents, though.
