Apply IoT profiles
You must apply an IoT profile to an IoT device so that the necessary data points and decoding algorithm are set up on that device.
To do so, select the desired IoT device from the device overview.
Make sure it is a generic IoT device.
You can recognize such devices by the following icon: 
On the configuration page of the corresponding device, click on More at the upper right and then on Apply IoT Profile.
In the dialog that appears, select the IoT profile that you want to apply to the current device from the dropdown and click Apply.
In the background, the data points are now created according to the selected IoT profile and the decoding algorithm is registered. As soon as messages arrive from the device, they are decoded accordingly and transferred to the data points.
Warning
When applying an IoT profile, existing data points are deleted if they are not present in the selected IoT profile. So make sure that you do not accidentally lose data points and permanently lose the associated measurement records or alarms.
