Email alarm
This chapter describes how to configure the email alarm service on the Beetle.
Please ensure that your Beetle is in operation and has a connection to the Avelon server.
If this is not the case, start in the chapter Connectivity. In order to use the email alarm service and to receive alarms, the service must be enabled.
How to enable or license communication protocol services is described in section Communication protocols. Incoming alarm emails are only processed by the Beetle if the email sender has previously been entered in the whitelist. Note To configure the whitelist, you must have operator privileges. Click on Email alarm on the left. Click on the Edit Whitelist button to configure the whitelist (i.e. the list of allowed alarm senders). Add a separate entry to the whitelist for each authorised alarm sender.
Alarms from an unauthorised sender are rejected by the Beetle and not processed further. To send email alarms to the Beetle, you must configure your email client with the information displayed.
These settings are provided by the Beetle and cannot be changed. Parameter Description SMTP Server SMTP server address to send the emails to SMTP Port SMTP server port to send the emails to Recipient Address of the alarm recipientEnable email alarm service
