Introduction

If you want to create your group tree or data point filter tree based on the names of your existing data points or on an external project definition from a third party, you can define an addressing system to automate the process.

An addressing system defines the individual segments of your data point identifiers (system identifiers or system names) so that the system is able to automatically assign meaning to these segments and generate a project structure based on it.

The process involves three steps:

1. Define an addressing system (or import it from a file)

2. Define how groups and data point filters should be generated from it

3. Generate the project structure
