Data point correlation (scatter chart)
You can create scatter charts using the Data point correlation chart type. These are characterized by the fact that two (or more) data points can be compared in order to visualize their temporal relationship to each other and to make any correlations visible.
To set up a simple scatter chart, proceed as follows:
Drag a data point from the data point gallery to the empty space below the X-axis heading at the bottom left. This data point is now used as a reference data point for all plots.
Drag another data point that you want to plot against the first data point to the empty space below the Plots heading.
The new plot is selected automatically, allowing you to configure it. For example, change the color or the primary data function.
If measurement data is available for both selected data points, a preview of the scatter chart will be displayed at the top.
You can repeat the second step as often as you like.
Show trendline
A trendline can be displayed for each plot of a scatter chart. Select the corresponding plot and activate the option Show Trendline in the Plot Settings. Set their color, line thickness and regression function.
If you select Segmented Linear as your Regression Function, you can enter initial guesses for the support points of the linear segments.
Under Support Points (Initial Guesses) you can enter the value of one or more support points, separated by commas, e.g. 10,14,20
.
The system will use these values as initial guesses for the calculation of the linear segments.
However, the actual support points might differ from these values slightly as the system is trying to find the optimal fit.
