Licenses

Some features in Avelon Cloud and Alcedo Inhouse require additional licenses. The following sections provide an overview of the different types of licenses and their effects on the functionality.

Device and data point licenses

Licenses that affect the functionality of devices or the usage of data points are documented on the Device licenses page.

Usually, these kinds of licenses can be managed on the configuration page of the respective device on the card Licenses.

Avelon Connect

An “Avelon Connect (Remote Access)” license is required to connect to specific devices (such as Beetle, Alcedo Inhouse, Casey or WAGO controllers) via VPN. Only devices with this license will appear in the Avelon Connect app.

To purchase the license, go to the configuration page of your device, expand the Licenses card and click on Shop. Then select “Avelon Connect (remote access)” / “Avelon Connect - VPN client” and complete the ordering process.

Avelon Reporting

To use data points in reports, an “Energy Reporting” license is required for each data point. These licenses can be managed via data point packages on the configuration page of the respective device on the Licenses card, just like any other device licenses.

Avelon Meters

To access meter data points in the Avelon Meters app, an “Avelon Meters” license is required for each concurrent user session. If the same user is logged in on multiple devices, each counts as a separate session and requires its own license. To free up an existing license, you can terminate an active session from the Active Sessions card on the user’s profile page.

Document management

By default, the storage space for ref:document <documents> is limited to 100 MB per client. If you have at least one license with recurring subscription costs, this limit is automatically increased to 1 GB.

If you need more storage space, you can extend it by purchasing an appropriate “Document Management” license. We offer licenses for 10 GB and 100 GB of storage space for documents. Please contact Avelon sales.

Mandates

In order to link two clients in a mandate relationship and share access between them, a “Mandate” license is required for each link.
