Initial setup
In order to use your WAGO controller on WAGO Building Cloud Services, you have to activate it.
Go to building.wago.cloud/activate.
Enter the activation key.
If you already have an account on WAGO Building Cloud Services, you can log in with your credentials, and the device will be added to your account. Otherwise, create a new account.
In order for the controller to be able to communicate with the system, some communication settings have to be set up on the controller.
Click on your user name at the top right and then on Devices.
Select your controller to get to its device configuration page.
Make sure you have the registration key that you received with your WAGO controller at hand. If you don’t have it, you can download it by clicking on More ▸ Download Registration Key and Activation Key at the top right. Save the PDF file on your computer and open it.
At the top right, click on More ▸ Download Device ID and Certificates. Extract the certificates from the downloaded ZIP file and upload them to
/etc/ssl/certs
on your controller according to the WAGO documentation.Log in to your WAGO controller. Go to the Configuration tab and then to Cloud Connectivity. Select the connection you want to configure on the left, e.g. Connection 1.
On the configuration page, select MQTT AnyCloud from the Cloud platform dropdown and enter the correct Hostname and Port number of the server. If you want to connect the device to WAGO Building Cloud Services, use
building.wago.cloud
and port8883
.In the Client ID field, enter the Device ID that you see in WAGO Building Cloud Services. The device ID is also present in the file names of the certificates you downloaded in step 4.
Make sure that CA file, Certification file and Key file point to the files that you uploaded in step 4.
Click on Submit at the bottom of the page to apply the changes.
The WAGO controller should now be able to communicate with WAGO Building Cloud Services.
