Introduction

Modbus is a data communications protocol originally published by Modicon (now Schneider Electric) for use with its programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Modbus has become a de facto standard communication protocol and is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices.

To read registers from Modbus, select Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU from the protocol dropdown at the top of the left sidebar and click Start Discovery.

The devices that are listed in the sidebar can be configured on the Beetle. For exact instructions, please refer to the documentation in the Beetle manual:

Select an entry in the device list on the left to show the individual registers of that device.
